Shabwa will soon enter the era of gas energy


Governor of Shabwa Mr. Muhammad Saleh bin Adeyo confirmed that the governorate will soon enter the era of gas energy, which will work to find radical solutions to the problems of electricity in it.

During his meeting with the leadership of the General Electricity Corporation in the governorate and its administrative, technical and engineering cadres, he revealed the stages that have been completed in the gas power project, whose power is estimated at 60 megawatts. He reviewed the practical treatments that he took to relieve pressure on the central power station in Ataq, and reported that the coastal areas of the governorate would be supplied with electricity from the gas export project in Balhaf. He added that the efforts will continue until all cities, villages and rural areas of Shabwa are supplied with electricity, pointing the approval of many projects aiming at improving the generating environment in the central electricity station, and to initiate the rehabilitation of internal power transmission networks and their external lines.

Governor Bin Adiou stressed the need to maintain the institutional work in this important service facility, discipline in the shifts of operating the station, and accountability for negligent people in their work and at various administrative and technical levels.
